Back Nine Stanley Golf Course
Call to Order: 7:30 pm by President Marilyn Pearson
Agenda: Presented by Marilyn Pearson.
Treasurer’s Report presented by Jack Fede:
Treasurer’s report was submitted and accepted.
$8,000 in the treasury. The biggest expenses were the Racers checks and the CSC dues. CSC stickers will be mailed out soon.
Secretary’s Report presented by Eva Tyburski:
Not available at this time.
Membership Report presented by Mike Brown:
Mike is working on applying paypal and venmo on our website for payment of dues. Payment of dues may also be made via mailing checks as in the past.
CSC Update:
- There will be no Snow Ball this year.
- On Snow is still up in the air as to whether it will be held.
- Kids Day is canceled for now.
- CSC is planning a Spring Picnic.
- Dennis Tyburski volunteered to be a CSC ambassador.
Racing Update:
- Racing will happen on Mt. Southington.
- The procedure will be the same as last year.
- Bibs are assigned and will be kept for the entire season.
- They are to be returned at the end of the season.
- There will be no pizza party to start the racing season, unfortunately.
Old Business:
Bulk tickets need to be ordered by Tuesday. One order so far.
The review of activities that took place this year included hiking, picnics, kayaking, biking, and cross-country skiing.
The Golf Tournament had a very good turnout.
New Business:
A vote was taken to continue with two meetings monthly. The meetings will be the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. Servers at the Back Nine will come to our table to
Take our orders. There is no need to go to the bar to be served.
Plans for this new season include a brewery meetup, biking, and a picnic.
November 11th will be the Annual Memorial Hike on Talcott Mountain hosted by Joan Noyes.
January 15th, 2022 will be the Annual Holiday Party at J. Timothy’s in Plainville.
February will bring the Soup, Stew and Chili Night. The proceeds from this event will go to Skiers Unlimited if they are able to have a skiing season this year. If, because of the Covid issue they are unable to meet, the proceeds will be given to another deserving organization.
February will also have Catamount Club Day.
March 13-20 is the trip to Sugarloaf.
There will be no Senior Games this year.
We need a CSC representative and a Board member. Please see Marilyn if you are interested.
Consider posting on our Facebook page if you are interested in going skiing anywhere and would like a companion. They may like to go but don’t want to go alone.
Forward our emails or invite your friends and coworkers to any club events. This may give them an opportunity to take part in activities they would enjoy but don’t know about.
Mount Southington is looking for Ski Instructors. Contact Steve Positano through the Mt. Southington website if you are interested.
