NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES
April 6, 2017
Meeting was called to order by President Jon Putnam at 7:45pm.
Reminder to sign the book in the bar when ordering drinks.
Secretary’s Report: Last meeting’s minutes were accepted.
Membership: Revenue came in as expected, trend is continuing- each year there are fewer members.
Tuckerman’s Ravine NSC: Possibly the weekend of April 22, 2017, Conditions are still difficult, so it will be a last minute decision, see Jon Putnam for information.
Spring Banquet: Dakotas, Rocky Hill, Friday April 28, 2017.6:30 Cocktails, 7:00 Dinner. $30 Members, $35 Guests. Looking for donations for raffle- New item or gift certificate. John Paturel will organize the life time members. See Carol Sweeney.
Bulk Tickets: Must be returned by May 1st for a credit. See Bulk Tickets Coordinators for NSC. A discussion regarding RFID ticket return was discussed in order to track the returns of Okemo tickets. Writing ticket numbers being returned will help John same time and keep organized.
New Business:
Ron Kapraszewski will contact Jeff Lepage to find the next Ambassador.
Monday Night Racing awards will be picked up by one of our members at the next council meeting so that they can be given out at the banquet.
Golf Tournament is booked same place as last year, Timberlin Golf Course, Berlin. August 6, 2017
Our Non-Profit status has been re-instated thanks to Marilyn Pearson’s hard work. Previous 2 year’s tax returns must now be filed, Marilyn is working on this.
The board of directors is checking into a new meeting place for next season, possibly Indian Hill Country Club in Newington.
Race in the Park is May 13th, see Barbra Metzen for a donation or to sign up and walk.
March of Dimes is April 30, 2017 see Bruce Laroche for donation or to participate.
Club Picnic will be scheduled on a Wednesday night in July at Ron Kapraszewski’s.
The unofficial Monday night bike rides have started in Farmington. The full biking schedule is almost complete. See website or contact Ron Kapraszewski for details.
Sugarloaf trip was fun, great timing with the new snow. John Hunter is planning a trip next season to Big Sky for March 2018. He recommends getting the Max pass if you plan to go to save money. Cost will be about $1500 plus lift tickets. If you get the Max pass before May 2, 2017 the cost of the pass is about $629.
